G.E.T. Supports Letter-writing Campaign for U.S. Soldiers
Offers Free Zac Brown Band CDs

The “Letters for Lyrics” program, a partnership between the Ram Truck brand and Zac Brown Band, aims to collect 1 million letters to send to U.S. troops deployed around the world. Locally, Glenn E. Thomas Dodge Chrysler Jeep is collecting letters at the dealership (2100 E Spring Street, Signal Hill, CA 90755) and giving each letter writer a “Breaking Southern Ground” CD.

“This program is a great way to say ‘thank you’ to our courageous men and women in uniform,” said John Davis, General Manager at G.E.T. “We are excited to offer this program for our community to show its support to the troops.”

The CD features three all-new songs from Zac Brown Band, and music from Sonia Leigh, Nic Cowan and Levi Lowrey. The compilation CD is not sold in stores and is exclusively available at Ram Truck dealerships.

Soldiers’ Angels, a nonprofit organization, will deliver the letters on behalf of Zac Brown Band and the Ram Truck brand. Soldiers’ Angels is a volunteer-led organization with over 225,000 members providing aid and comfort to the men and women of the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, along with veterans and their families.

As part of the initiative, several short documentary-style videos are being posted on RamTrucks.com with highlights from the Zac Brown Band’s recent trip to the Persian Gulf to perform for the troops.

G.E.T. also shows its support to the troops by offering an additional $500 cash allowance to all qualified enlisted military personnel and veterans toward the purchase of most new 2010 Ram, Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep vehicles.

Employee Spotlight: John Harris

John Harris has been working at Glenn E Thomas Company for 40 years! He began washing cars and mopping floors. His dad was a mechanic and knew the service advisor at GET. He put in a good word for his son and he landed the job!

John has worked as a mechanic, held almost every position in the parts department, has been service shop dispatcher, and eventually became a service writer in 1984. We are also lucky to have John's son working as a technician and his father-in-law working as a driver.

John enjoys hearing positive feedback from our customers. He appreciates when customers send a positive letter about the service department's hard work. He says it is nice to hear about the great experiences people have here. His favorite thing about working at Glenn E Thomas Company is the employees and how everyone gets along. He enjoys the family atmosphere.

John says his co-workers and the GET owners are what have kept him here all of these years. He enjoys coming to work every day.

John's hobbies include sports and drag racing. He has been married for 30 years and is excited to become a Grandpa next month!
